Double bed: wooden frame around the mattress???...quite uncomfortable and dangerous Sofabed: suggestion...fitted sheet. Four people, 3 nights, 1 toilet roll??? TV...not BBC, most of the channels in urdu, no offence.
Poor cleaning, broken elements in the apartment (shower, curtains), no blackouts.
Location was great, easy walk from Paddington station, and the Big Bus tour drop off. Shower was great.
Second bed was a hard leather futon sofa, linens do not stay on, just drape over couch to floor. No spare blankets or pillows, and they put a single comforter in a double duvet cover, kids were cold. No tea/coffee. No instructions for tv, or washing machine which we couldn't get to run.
The house looks very nice from the outside. The room was newly renovated. Everything is nearby. Kensington Park just a minute walk away.
The building is in a very poor condition underneath the surface. When we first got into the room it had a strange smell already. Obviously the walls were soaked with water. After the first night water dropped from the ceiling. So we moved out as fast as we could.
Nothing- the smell in room was terrrible and not healthful. I guessed that cleaners use too much detergents or somethings to clean out ///
It was terrible for us. There were 4 adults, but bed was only one and provide one sofa kind of bed which was absolutly adaptable one person. If they did describle the bed and sofa sizes, I would not chose this apartement. Secondly, the reception was too far so that we should take taxi to check-in because the carriers were heavy to drag to there. Furthermore, the hotel was not allowance for keeping luguages after check- out. The most annoying thing was the staff who called with me. I would like to ask where could we keep them and he said, we could put them in storage company in paddington station, and I asked where is the company exactly. I was so much annoyed when he said that he was not sure where is it and the existance. Oh my god- Finally, I had to search Internet by myself because he hang off phone.
This apartment was very central. Only two minutes walk from paddington tube / train station. There is a large choice of restaurants within the area and also lots of small pubs if you fancy a drink. Another big plus for me is that it had free wifi, I am not sure if this belonged to the apartment as it was not advertised! Nice pleasant area to go go for a stroll in the evening if like me you are on business and not going out to shows etc.
I didn't like the fact that the bed was a Japanese type Futon ( only six inches off the floor). It was difficult to get in and out off! The apartment was quite small and for some reason the bathroom stank. There is certainly something wrong with the plumbing. I was in apartment four on the ground floor. I had to keep the bathroom door closed at all times to contain the smell of sewerage which I had read about in other reviews! The power in the apartment switches off when you take your key card out of the holder on the wall which turns off everything in the apartment including the fridge but for some reason not the kettle!
room is too small.,extremely the bathroom ,it is so small
The location is very convinent for buying food or having meals. I stayed at quad room which has a suite of kitchen- and tableware.
Caution!! The hotel reception is far from the hotel and the place is not so easy to find. You have to take 10 min or more walk if you arrive at the hotel address indicated by the Booked.net. Noisy outside. You can hear stepping upstares. Another mess was that some body drunk(?) was ringging a bell of my room in the midnight again and again. That means it's not very much quiet and peaceful location. Broken blind which didin't allow to change angles.
Spacious, efficient with a family, very good quiet location and excellent price
reception away (at least 20 min. walking distance one way), room keys may now work and you may get locked up outside with kids and all (assistance provided within 15 minutes), too much pounding noise from upstairs too early in the morning or very late in the night. Extra linens would be good.
Didnt like a thing.
I chose the hotel for the location, as it's close to Paddington station and I had a short airport connection to Heathrow. However, after finding the place, I relised there was no reception at the building (something that only showed at page 3 of my booking confirmation). This meant I had to take a taxi to somewhere else to pick up the key. Which kinda defeats the purpose of the location. I only arrived in london at 11:00 pm, and by the time I got to the apartment and picked up my key it was close to 2 am, and I couldnt get much sleep before my 9am departure the next morning. Lift in the bulilding seemed very old and very scary to use. For he price I paid to the room I expected a lot more.
The apartments were ideally located, very clean and good value for money. Unfortunately on return to the apartment late one evening, I opened the door switched on the light and discovered we were not alone. Two (pretty big) mice scurried from behind the bed to take shelter behind the television unit. Even though this did not affect me in the slightest, my friend who was supposed to share the room with me was distraught. Luckily my sisters were in an apartment upstairs and one of them graciously offered to swap sleeping arrangements with my friend. Overall, we had a lovely weekend in London and can honestly say that I would use the apartments again.
Clean, modern and well equipped.
The only problem was that there is no reception actually in the apartments, hence no way of getting your key without travelling 1.5 miles to another reception in Bayswater. I was not aware of this when I booked.
I arrived at my apartment to find out that the reception was a 20 min walk away. I walked to the reception and back to my apartment to find it was in a basement and above the bed was a large damp patch which was mouldy. The apartment did not smell very pleasant eaither. I called the recpetion and they said they would call me back. After 40 mins with no call and I could not get through to them, I went to the reception. I got put in another apartment which was a lot nicer. However, this was 20 mins further away to my selected apartment and was on the sixth floor which was not ideal with a suitcase. I would not stay again - especially at £180 a night.
The location of these apartments is fantastic, so close to Paddington station and you can always get a taxi at the bottom of the street. Fabulous cafes nearby and all the supermarkets, pharmacy etc at the station. Great place to base yourself. Our apartment had lots of light and fresh air which was lovely, and the building itself is pretty as well. There is a sweet little park across the road, good for the kids to have a run around when you need them to. The lift is a huge bonus and free wifi in the building makes your life very easy if you have internet access.
All of the apartments are miniscule, and we looked at a few. The basement ones (1-3) are dark and would not have much air. The ones above ground are much nicer but extremely small, the family studio is the smallest space I've ever seen 2 beds squished into! The office being in Inverness Terrace is a 20 min walk or £5 taxi ride away, this is a huge problem when you first arrive or if you need something. Our washing machine was broken, we told them and they already knew but hadn't fixed it or let us know. We were offered the keys to another flat to do our washing, but only if we got to inverness terrace to pick them up and returned them a few hours later - for the £10 that would have cost in taxis we paid to have our washing done. Very annoying so check nothing is broken when you check in, especially if, with a family, having a washing machine is one of the reasons for being in an apartment not a hotel! Also, we were given a studio not a 1 br, they were apologetic and offered for us to change (after we trekked to inverness terrace of course to tell them) but we didn't change because the 1br available was dark and in the basement where the lift doesn't go down to.
Location good. There is no reception. You turn up with bags, tired from travel, and have to chase up the keys in another location.
It is like camping on the floor. Rooms cleaned once a week only.
